Indiana's State Budget 

Lawmakers passed the State Budget with strong support from both parties. It cleared the House 96-2 and the Senate 46-3. The Republican-written budget plan calls for spending $37 billion over the next two years—which includes an overall school funding increase of about 4.5% each of the next two years. Additionally $250 million is included for broadband internet expansion grants.

Waiting for Governor Holcomb's signature...

After bills pass both the House and the Senate, they are sent to Governor Holcomb. He can choose to sign the bill into law, veto the bill, or let the bill pass without his signature. Here are some of the bills we are following currently waiting for his signature:

• HB 1009, "TANF Program"
• HB 1101, "Daycare Licensure Exemption in Declared Emergency"
• SB 82, "Mental Health Diagnosis"
• SB 259, "Parents with Disabilities"
• SB 368, "Juvenile Justice"
