As a youth intermediary, we see every day how our state is failing to serve youth and families.
MCCOY opposes any legislative decisions imposing additional restrictions on reproductive healthcare as they will exacerbate these failures and result in dire consequences for families and young people.
Governor Holcomb has called a special legislative session this summer, anticipated to include action on Indiana’s policies on abortion and expected to include significant restrictions or an overall ban to be considered by the end of July.
As a commitment to continue our advocacy and action to support youth and families, MCCOY will be releasing data reflective of the current status of youth, examining potential adverse impact on families, breaking down any policy changes once released, and sharing opportunities for engagement and action. We will continue to educate around best practices, preventative strategies and addressing equity in supporting youth and families. MCCOY will remain a voice for ensuring youth can thrive in our Hoosier state.
